Having said that, as organiser we will do everything in our power to make the Summit we planned in Świeradów-Zdrój happen, just in 2021. That’s is why we’ll leave all the info below, to give you an idea of what we have in mind. So feel free toread it and hopefully see you in Poland in 2021!
About European MTB Summit
European MTB Summit is a mixture of an informative conference and a fun festival and is 100% about MTB. Here you can learn about the latest in various fields directly and indirectly affecting MTB development during lectures, workshops, discussions and site visits. Between them there is outdoor program – sightseeing and activities with and on bicycles, including as much riding as possible to fit in the program. That combination of informative and fun makes it easy to network and share good practices with other participants, who come from various fields – mountain bike advocacy, trail building, bicycle industry, land management agencies, public authorities, tourism and others.

7th annual Summit takes place in Świeradów-Zdrój (Poland) and its theme is cooperation, especially that between bike communities, land managers and local governments. Świeradów-Zdrój is a perfect location for this topic, thanks to a vast variety of trails. Here speakers don’t have to be theoretical – they can just leave the hotel, get on a bike and have a discussion on real trails. Natural and those built specifically for cyclists; opened over 10 years ago or those from 1.5 years ago; situated in areas with high or low tourist traffic; designed and built by various people and financed differently.
Program in a nutshell
The concept behind this year program is to keep sitting to a minimum and fit as many riding as possible without loosing any informative content.
Ride before lectures
Every day before lectures there will be a chance to go on a morning ride. Few groups, difficulty ranging from very easy to super hardcore.
Outdoor parallel sessions
Parallel afternoon sessions will always have an outdoor option – either case study on trails or site visits by foot or bicycle.
Evening program with bicycles
Each social evening event will somehow make use of bicycles. Either we will go there by bikes or have fun with them.
That means, if you have the opportunity, take your mountain bike with you. It's also possible to rent a bike in one of the local rental shops. If you already know you need one, check a bicycle box during registration, it will help access the demand.
Why Świeradów-Zdrój?
Świeradów-Zdrój is a small city surrounded by picturesque Izera Mountains. It was originally known as a SPA and tourist destination, thanks to raw beauty of local nature and mineral waters. Now it is most famous for purpose built trails and is considered top MTB destination for the whole family.
Over ten years ago the city became part of the trans-border project that resulted in first purpose built trails network in continental Europe – Singltrek pod Smrekiem. It was recognized internationally and received a designation of IMBA Bronze Level Ride Center. Singletracks became the driving force behind the development of the local economy, which is why local authorities decided to invest in MTB tourism. More and more purpose built trails were opened over the years. Thanks to that, open access in forests for bicycles (Polish forest policy) and great natural conditions, Świeradów-Zdrój has now a very diverse trail network.
